Geometric solver

From PLMpedia

Jump to: navigation, search

A computation module, at the input of which is a geometrical problem – a description of an original position of geometric elements and a set of logic and parametric constraints imposed upon these elements, and at the output – the new element coordinates, conforming to the imposed constraints. Commercial solvers are library modules that have a set of algorithms for efficient solution of commercial tasks of conforming to geometric constraints. Using a number of heuristic decomposition methods, a solver can interactively solve problems with several thousands constraints. A universal program interface allows embedding a solver in any application to implement the functionality of variational design: rough drawing, parts and assembly design, kinematic analysis, etc.
